Stumbled upon this awesome website that reminds me of older stop motion style animations. I love the flow of the website even though it is a bit challenging to understand how to navigate. But that brings me to a point for this article. Not every design needs to be as usable as possible. Some sites work better, like this one, when it comes to be a little more exploratory with the navigation. A major advantage of a website like this is that it can potentially attract the audience you want to work with.
By forcing the user to explore on their own and making them decide, you can learn a lot about them. For instance if they wish to take the time to explore and learn about your website then they will more likely take the time and effort a good project demands.
This navigation style is bold but effective. Now onto the fun stuff. The design of the website. As stated earlier it is that nice retro paper cutout style of stop motion animation. It really reminds of the Story of Rudolph movie. It is a nostalgic look but at the same time it is very new. The imagination of this website is also present everywhere. From the dresser in the bedroom being interactive to the Train that runs on the home screen, not a detail is missed. The site is simple and effective. The best part of this website you ask? Well, that is easy. It’s a Thai creative agency. The first one I have seen and it is right on par with the rest of the design world. Kudos to the people over at A Village Bangkok.
